To what extent will the institutions support the dual vocational training structures that have been established in Costa Rica to date? What opportunities for improvement exist? Kenneth Biddington has examined these research question in a study that examines the institutional challenges of that governance arrangement and its conditions for long-term sustainability.

Costa Rica institutionalized dual vocational education and training (VET) through Law No. 9728 (2019) and entrusted its steering to a multi-actor body, the Comisión Asesora y Promotora (CAP) for Dual TVET, bringing together the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), the National Learning Institute (INA), the employers' federation (UCCAEP), unions and international cooperation partners (GOVET/BIBB).

GOVET provided remote support to the visiting scholar from Canada from March through the end of June during his research stay in Costa Rica.

He will present his findings in an online event. The event will be held in English.
