Canada: In-depth dialogue on vocational education and training
Canada and Germany are building closer ties in the field of vocational training: high-level dialogue forums have focused on reforms, employer involvement, inclusion and cooperation between the public and private sectors. GOVET is contributing German expertise to this transatlantic exchange.

In May 2026, a delegation from Ghana’s Parliamentary Education Committee visited Germany to discuss current education reforms and future issues in vocational education and training with several representatives from diverse institutions.
Round Table Meeting with Ghanaian Education Delegation
On 21 May 2026, GOVET, iMOVE and the Ghana Forum North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), hosted a roundtable discussion with a five-person delegation from Ghana’s Parliamentary Education Committee at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in Bonn.

GOVET supports the publication of the third Ghana TVET Report
The third Ghana TVET Report was officially launched at this year’s CTVET TVET Symposium in Ghana. The report was produced by CTVET in collaboration with GOVET and was published under the patronage of the Ghanaian Minister of Education.
GOVET reflects on 2025. Presented as multimedia feature, the annual report highlights success stories, challenges, and key topics from GOVET's advisory work as a one-stop shop for the iBBZ, at the Round Table, and in the BMBFSFJ’s cooperations. A video introduction by the team rounds off the review.
GOVET honoured at the Ghana TVET Excellence Awards
On 14 April 2026, the TVET Excellence Awards were presented for the first time in Ghana, with support from the BMBFSFJ. Students and vocational schools received awards in nine categories, and international partners were also recognised.
With its newly redesigned landing pages, GOVET now offers clearer guidance on topics relating to German vocational education and training. They have been specifically updated to provide international partners with materials and information from a single source.
Vocational training cooperation with South Africa gains political momentum
Vocational training cooperation between Germany and South Africa gains momentum: the BNC has agreed on an action plan for cooperation, and shortly afterwards the bilateral expert group launched a series of training courses aimed at further developing vocational teacher training.
New presentation: Inter-company vocational training centres
This presentation provides interested parties from Germany and abroad with information about inter-company vocational training centres (ÜBS). It outlines the tasks and objectives of inter-company vocational training centres and offers insights into their financing and the underlying legal basis.

The presentation “Sustainability in Education and Training” provides interested parties from Germany and abroad with an overview of the implementation of sustainability in companies and the necessary positioning of sustainability in German education and training.
Call for Papers: AI in Vocational Education and Training
From now until and with extended deadlline until March 22, authors can submit articles for a publication on the topic of AI in vocational education and training. The aim is to examine the impact of AI on vocational education and training and to combine international perspectives.
