Ziele und Wirkungen des Vorhabens/Projekts:

The Overall Objective of the action is to enhance increased access to employment amongst the skilled youth and women of refugee and host communities in the refugee hosting areas of West Nile, improving their income status and livelihoods, through vocational skills training, life skills and entrepreneurship, Agri-business skills through youth farmer groups, youth-private sector platforms for job linkages and comprehensive impact-based post training support to progressive youths.

Beschreibung:

Given the high dropout and unemployment rates among adolescents and young people in the west Nile region of Uganda and with similar statistics showing the rate of unemployment, school dropout, child/youth headed households amongst the young population aged between the age of 15 and 30 years, the project aims at addressing these challenges in Uganda and specifically the West Nile sub-region The project will contribute to employment and income opportunities amongst the youth and women of refugee and host communities in the refugee-hosting areas of West Nile. This action is in line with the CRRF and will contribute to achieving the socioeconomic impact included in Pillar 3. The proposed action will also contribute to SDG 8 of full and productive employment and decent work. This will be done by equipping youths with skills and start-up kits to aid self-employment. Young people will be trained in selected vocational trades and Agri-business skills. The youths are to be integrated into a platform with the private sector, linked to jobs.
