The activities of DTC are strongly contributing to the living conditions of those young people who attended courses at DTC. The contribution of DTC to decrease unemployment on a larger scale is limited in scope.Regular exchange with private businesses based on personal contacts, but also through open-doors events, furthermore increases positive, long-term impacts on the target group. DTC is a Vocational Training Center (VET) that offer courses in technical and craft fields for young people between 16 - 25 years in Mitrovica region. Through the professional trainings to train young people and integrate them into the labour market.

1a) 70% of all appx. 1.200 graduates (appx. 20% women) report after the graduation of the vocational training to feel well prepared for their professional start.

1b) At least 35 % of graduates find within six months after the graduation a job. This means: In case of an employment the person is employed for at least four weeks (probation period); seasonal workers and freelancers are also considered in the monitoring.

Young people in Mitrovica still suffer from the fact that the (vocational) educational system as well as governmental efforts to improve economic integration is insufficient and respective offers similar to those of DTC are lacking. DTC offers for the young people trainings with theory and practical in the directions: central heating, electrical installation, plumbing, tile laying, dry construction, carpenter, tailoring, hairdresser course, maintenance of household equipment’s, and also provide trainings in some fields for the students of technical school in Mitrovica. This helps constantly increasing the awareness for the importance of well qualified workers in Kosovo.
