From 18th to 20th October 2018, GOVET presents its German-Italian vocational training cooperation at didacta Italia, in Florence. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education, GOVET offers a wide range of information and a comprehensive programme on all aspects of dual vocational training.
During a festive ceremony on June 21st 2018, the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani awarded the head of the TVET project Dr. Gustav Reier with the Mir Masjidi Khan state medal. The Mir Masjidi Khan Medal is Afghanistan's second highest civilian award.
As part of re:publica 2018, GOVET organized a panel discussion with international guests from Israel, Russia and the USA. The discussion moderated by BIBB research director Prof. Hubert Ertl focused on vocational education and training in times of digitalization. The video is available on Youtube.

GOVET is referring to its current public tender (commissioned by BMBF) for the performance of a study on establishing the status of research in VET in Sub-Saharan Africa. Recommendations for the strategic orientation of VET cooperation shall be developed. The study has to be in German language.
The first “Talent Pool Asia” opened its doors in Hamburg on 2 March 2018. The focus of the conference – held under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) – was discussion between partners on successful VET cooperation, and the prospects for future collaboration.
